A.    POSITIVE DEGREE

Used to compare two things that are equal

Formula: S+ Tobe / verb +  as + adj/adv + as + O

             : S + Tobe + Not so + adj / adv + As + O

Example:

1.      My sister is as beautiful as me

2.      Budi is not so young as Hendra

B.     COMPARATIVE DEGREE

Used to compare two things that are not equal

Formula: S + ToBe + r/er/ier/more adj/adv + than + O

Examples:

1.      My heels is more expensive than yours

2.      My ruler is longer than yours

C.     SUPERLATIVE DEGREE

Used to compare one thing with two or more things

Formula : S + ToBe + the + (most)Adj/Adv(est)

Example:

1.      Leni is the shortest girl in the class

2.      Jakarta is the biggest city in Indonesia

3.      Lucy is the most popular ladt in the college

4.      Elisa is the most diligent student in the class
